Use the Waterfox spell checker
Waterfox checks words entered in supported text fields against installed dictionaries. A word that is not found is underlined in red.

Spell checking is enabled by default only in text fields with more than one line. Some language builds do not include a dictionary because of licensing restrictions.
Disable spell checking
- Open the Waterfox menu and select Settings.
- In the General panel, find the Language or Spell check section, depending on your version.
- Clear Check your spelling as you type.
- Close Settings. Waterfox saves the change.

Correct a misspelled word
Right-click the underlined word. On macOS, hold Control while clicking. Select one of the suggested words at the top of the menu.
If no suggestion is appropriate, edit the word manually. If the word is correct, select Add Word to Dictionary.

Add a dictionary
- Right-click a text field that contains more than one line. On macOS, hold Control while clicking.
- Select Languages.
- Select Add Dictionaries.
- On the Dictionaries & Language Packs page, select a dictionary.
- Click the installation button, then confirm by clicking Add when Waterfox asks for permission.
Switch dictionaries
Right-click a multi-line text field, select Languages, then select an installed dictionary. Waterfox can check against more than one selected dictionary.
Remove a word from the personal dictionary

Open the profile folder:
- Open the Waterfox menu, select Help, then select More Troubleshooting Information.
- Under Application Basics, find Profile Folder or Profile Directory. Click Open Folder, Show in Finder, or Open Directory.

If Waterfox cannot open the profile folder, close Waterfox and open the profile directory from the operating system’s file manager.

Close Waterfox completely.

persdict.datin a text editor. -
Delete the line containing the word.

Save the file and reopen Waterfox.
