Automatically fill in payment methods on web forms

Waterfox can save credit and debit card details and fill them into checkout forms for you. Your card security code (CVV) is never saved, and you can require your device password or biometric before any card is filled.

Caution

Saved cards live in your profile on this computer. Use this only on a machine you control.

Turn payment method autofill on or off

  1. Click the menu button, then select Settings.
  2. Select Passwords and autofill.
  3. Scroll to the Payment methods section.
  4. Check Save and autofill payment info to enable it, or clear it to turn it off.

Require authentication before filling

You can make Waterfox ask for your operating system credentials — password, fingerprint or face — before it fills or reveals a card.

  1. Open Settings and select Passwords and autofill.
  2. Scroll to Payment methods.
  3. Check Require device sign in to autofill and manage payment methods.

This uses your computer’s own sign-in, not a browser or account password.

If your account has no password

  • Windows — with no Windows password set, you will not be prompted at all, so the protection has no effect.
  • macOS — with no password set, you may need to confirm the empty dialog twice to continue.

In both cases the setting only helps if your operating system account is actually protected.

Add, edit or remove saved cards

  1. Open Settings and select Passwords and autofill.
  2. Scroll to Payment methods and select Saved payment methods.
  3. Use Add, Edit or Remove as needed.
  4. Close the window to save.
