Open Waterfox automatically when you start your computer

This article applies to Waterfox on Windows.

Recent Waterfox releases can launch automatically whenever you start or restart the computer. Availability may vary by Waterfox version and Windows configuration.

Opt-in prompt

If Waterfox is your default browser, an opt-in message may appear. Click Yes, open Waterfox to enable automatic launch.

Manual configuration

If the prompt does not appear, configure automatic launch in Waterfox Settings:

  1. Open Waterfox Settings.
  2. Select Open Waterfox automatically. In some versions, the option is named Open Waterfox automatically when your computer starts up.
  1. If Waterfox says This preference has been disabled in Windows, click Startup Apps. Windows opens the appropriate system settings.
  1. Close the Settings page. Waterfox saves the change.
